Xpress Notary Services provides notary and commissioning services. The information on this website — including blog articles, guides and the online document builders — is general information only. It isn't legal advice, and using the site doesn't create a lawyer–client relationship. If you're unsure whether a document is right for your situation, please speak with a lawyer.
Notarizing or commissioning a document confirms things like your identity, your signature or your oath. It doesn't mean we've reviewed the document's contents or legal effect.
Online documents
- The document builders are self-help tools. You're responsible for the answers you give and for checking that the finished document is accurate, complete and suits your needs before you sign it.
- Documents are prepared for use in Alberta (or for Canadian travel and visitor purposes where noted). Follow the signing and witnessing instructions included with each document.
- We can't guarantee that a bank, government office, Land Titles, court, border officer, embassy or other third party will accept a particular document — each one sets its own requirements.
Prices, payment and delivery
- Prices are shown in Canadian dollars. Some documents are free.
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We don't receive or store your full card number.
- After your document is generated, we email you a download link that works for 7 days. You can ask for a new link at any time on our request a link page.
Refunds
Because each document is generated and delivered right away, purchases are final. If you were charged but didn't receive your document, were charged more than once, or the document didn't generate correctly, contact us within 30 days of your purchase and we'll fix the problem or refund you.
Appointments
Notary and commissioning services are by appointment. Our current fees and what to bring are listed on our Rates page. Please contact us as early as you can if you need to change or cancel an appointment.
Using the website
Please don't misuse the website — for example, by trying to access parts of it you're not permitted to, interfering with how it works, sending automated requests, or using the document builders to create false or fraudulent documents. The website content, design and document templates belong to Xpress Notary Services; you may use the documents you create for your own personal purposes.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Xpress Notary Services isn't liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the website or the online documents, and our total liability for any online document is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be limited.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your personal information.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top shows when they last changed. These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
