Our Services
Whether you're preparing for international travel, applying for government benefits, or finalizing legal documents, Xpress Notary Services is here to serve you promptly and professionally. We are authorized to notarize or commission a wide range of documents, including but not limited to:
1
Affidavits (any type)
An affidavit is a written statement where a person (called the deponent) swears or affirms that the information they are providing is true. This must be done in front of someone authorized to take oaths, such as a notary public. Affidavits are often required by law - through statute or regulation - to prove certain facts. They are commonly used as evidence in court, but may also be needed for other legal or official purposes.
2
Statutory Declarations
A statutory declaration is a formal statement of facts, similar to an affidavit, but used when there is no law specifically requiring an affidavit. Instead, it is made under the authority of the Canada Evidence Act or the Alberta Evidence Act. The person making the declaration must solemnly declare that the information is true in front of someone authorized to administer statutory declarations, such as a lawyer or a notary public.
3
Apostille Services
An apostille certificate is a form of authentication that verifies the signature and authority of a notary public or other official on a document, making it legally recognized in countries that are signatories to The Hague Apostille Convention. It confirms that the document is genuine and can be accepted abroad without further legalization. Foreign entities such as banks, courts, or government agencies may require an apostille to ensure the document is valid and trustworthy for use in their country.
